Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 – Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us – we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Construction Noise and Vibration Specialist within the Construction Environmental & Sustainability function. This role will be based on site in Coleshill. Our head office is located within an excellent location easily accessible via the M6 and M42. The office is also accessible via rail, and we offer employees a shuttle bus transfer to our office from Birmingham international. Role Description: * Assurance of all construction noise and vibration deliverables. * Investigations and responses in respect of noise and vibration complaints/incidents. * Assessing compliance with Environmental Minimum Requirements, S61 consents, Undertakings & Assurances and relevant contract technical requirements. * Offering and arranging noise insulation or temporary rehousing for properties which are eligible (and take up the offers). * Providing evidence in relation to construction noise and vibration for verification, validation and technical assurance reviews. Experienced required: * Corporate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics. * Organised, proactive and adaptable. * A sound understanding of noise and vibration Environmental Impact Assessment process, environmental legislation, impact mitigation and dealing with statutory authorities. * Practical experience mitigating construction noise and vibration from major infrastructure schemes. * Experience of managing construction noise and vibration risks and their impacts in terms of time, costs and reputation. * Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the project * Good interpersonal and communication skills with people from a wide range of backgrounds and experience.
