Are you looking to progress your career by working on Britain’s biggest construction project? Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 – Britain’s new high speed railway. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us – we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cost Controller within the Finance team. This role will be based on site in Warwickshire. Building a 12.5km stretch covering areas in Leamington Spa, Coventry, and Solihull. The sublot is responsible for the creation of viaducts, over bridges and, under bridges as well as a retaining structure at Stoneleigh Park Business Park. Sublot 2A is the southern most section of mainline. The sublot extends north from Southam through Warwickshire up towards Kenilworth. Role description: Prepares or arranges the preparation of financial reports for managers by running systems for collecting, analysing, verifying, and reporting cost and financial performance. Experienced required: * Relevant experience gained within a contracting/projects environment, ideally as a Project Cost Accountant or Project Cost Controller. * Excellent knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting. * Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with project managers, commercials, and other stakeholders. * Analyse cost variances and discrepancies, investigating and providing explanations for any deviations. * Communicate financial updates to relevant stakeholders, highlighting potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. * Collaborate with project teams to identify potential cost overruns and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks. • Advanced Excel and analytical skills. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
