Location: Birchwood, Warrington

Rate: £15.50 per hour (PAYE)

Contract: 6 months (37.5 hours per week, Mon–Fri)

Balfour Beatty is seeking an enthusiastic Receptionist and Facilities Assistant to provide front-of-house and operational support for our modern, collaborative office in Birchwood, Warrington. This is a highly interactive role requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to maintaining exceptional office standards.

The Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will work alongside a dedicated team to manage the daily environment for employees, visitors, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front of House: Acts as the first point of contact at reception; managing visitors, handling the shared mailbox, and providing first-class customer service.
  • Switchboard & Communication: Operating the switchboard on a rota basis, communicating with wider teams and facilities staff across other locations (Training provided).
  • Meeting Rooms: Managing the booking system, ensuring rooms are cleared between meetings, and checking equipment/hospitality.
  • Mailroom: Handling all incoming/outgoing post and managing the in-house hybrid mail solution.
  • Facilities Support: Managing access control/staff passes, ordering kitchen and office consumables, and proactively reporting maintenance issues through to resolution.
  • General Admin: Stock control for stationery and print stations, and assisting the Facilities Manager with contractor coordination.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be a social, dynamic individual who thrives in a busy and demanding corporate environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience: Background in Customer Service (Face-to-Face or Call Centre) or Front of House/Reception.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to deal with people at all levels.
  • Technical Skills: IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to work independently and manage a varying workload.
  • Switchboard: Previous experience with switchboard systems is highly desirable.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Facilities Management.
  • First Aid or Fire Marshall certification.
