Join Our Rail Team in Colchester – Fitter Opportunity! Are you ready to take your mechanical skills to the next level? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fitter to join our dynamic Rail team at our Colchester depot!
In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining and repairing our cutting-edge On-Track Machinery (OTMs), ensuring they’re operating at peak performance and reliability. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in getting things “right first time,” we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities
- Carrying out maintenance and repairs on OTMs in line with company procedures and deadlines.
- Producing clear verbal and written reports on faults, repairs, maintenance, accidents, and incidents.
- Ensuring OTMs are reliable and ready for action post-maintenance.
- Diagnosing faults and delivering effective, first-time fixes.
Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 Qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering
- A recognised apprenticeship
- PTS and DP
- Able to work to timescales/deadlines
- Awareness of Health & Safety
- Stores knowledge
