Balfour Beatty Rail is looking for a motivated RRV Fitter to join our dynamic Rail Plant team based in Hither Green. In this essential role, youll play a key part in supporting both our internal Hire Fleet and external customers by ensuring our machinery operates at peak performance. From routine maintenance to on-the-spot repairs, your work will help keep the rail network running smoothly — including providing out-of-hours support when needed. No prior experience? No problem. What you9ll be doing
- Carry out the repair, maintenance, and preparation of hire equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintain regular communication with customers while on-site, providing updates on service progress and addressing any concerns.
- Keep the Foreman Fitter informed on performance, coverage, and any operational objectives or issues.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of paperwork to support efficient processing and record-keeping.
- Apply best value practices when sourcing goods and services to support maintenance activities.
What you9ll need
- Some experience in mechanics or vehicle maintenance is beneficial
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to drive road vehicles as required
- Flexibility to work outside of normal hours when needed
- Ability to meet and maintain the required medical standards for the role
