About The Role

Shape the Future of Procurement Systems at Balfour Beatty. We’re looking for a Procurement Business Systems Lead to take ownership of our UK eProcurement solution and play a pivotal role in shaping how Procurement operates across the Balfour Beatty Group. If you’re passionate about optimising systems, simplifying processes, and driving real business improvement, this is your opportunity to step into a high-impact role with Group-wide visibility.

Location: Newcastle, Sheffield or London

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and manage the UK eProcurement solution and related platforms, continuously identifying and delivering improvement opportunities.
  • Lead system and process improvement projects in line with the Procurement systems roadmap.
  • Provide expert support to procurement teams across multiple business units when specialist eProcurement knowledge is required.
  • Partner with our system provider to relay user feedback and stay engaged with upcoming developments.
  • Maintain governance, ensuring the system is well-managed with clear processes and high-value templates.
  • Drive solution adoption across the organisation.
  • Engage and influence key stakeholders across Procurement, IT, Commercial and Finance to ensure effective and efficient solution design.
  • Support Group-wide priorities, contributing subject matter expertise to key projects and initiatives.
  • Represent Procurement as an expert function, promoting best practice and consistency across the business.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Strong procurement experience, with hands-on exposure to P2P, procurement systems and eProcurement solutions.
  • Confident, articulate communication skills with the ability to guide conversations and support decision-making.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, able to work effectively with senior stakeholders across a complex organisation.
  • Experience delivering process improvements in a large business.
  • A track record of simplifying complex issues and delivering fast, effective solutions.
  • A customer-focused mindset, consistently aiming to exceed expectations.
  • Integrity, professionalism and the ability to work independently.
  • Effective team leadership and collaboration skills.
