About The Role
Are you ready to take your finance career to the next level? We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Accountant to support the high-profile A57 project. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team delivering real impact in infrastructure and finance.
Location: A57, Mottram in Longdendale, Hyde SK14 6PW.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing and managing schedules for applications for payment.
- Supporting the AfP submission process and liaising with project customers.
- Collaborating with operational and commercial teams to ensure financial clarity.
- Assisting with staff and agency reporting, onboarding, and HR‑finance processes.
- Delivering insightful ad‑hoc analysis to support commercial decisions.
- Contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Addressing timesheet recovery issues and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitoring project costs and providing actionable insights.
- Jumping into ad‑hoc tasks that keep our finance engine running smoothly.
Who we’re looking for:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – Grade C or above.
- Part‑qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA) – or working towards it.
- Experience in cost management, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Strong Excel skills and a sharp analytical mind.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Organised, deadline‑focused, and eager to take ownership.
- A self‑starter attitude with a drive to grow and learn.
