Balfour Beatty has an amazing opportunity for a Package Manager to join our Major Projects team at the iconic Old Oak Common development in London, part of the HS2 c. 1 billion station project. In this role you will lead the Conventional Station Superstructure (Structural Steel, Secondary Steel & Envelope) and manage subcontractors delivering the works.
What you'll be doing
- Manage full package lifecycle: tendering, procurement, delivery, commissioning and handover.
- Contract and commercial control – NEC3 compliance, change management, cost forecasting and reporting.
- Programme ownership – review schedules, client reporting and trend analysis.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams – coaching, resource planning and conflict resolution.
- Risk & stakeholder management – technical, commercial, safety, political risks and third‐party approvals (HS2, Network Rail, TfL, utilities).
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Monitor subcontractor performance – progress, operatives, plant and design deliverables.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of contracts and Works Information.
- Civil engineering experience on major infrastructure projects.
- Procurement process knowledge.
- Ability to monitor and report subcontractor performance.
- Experience in multidisciplinary interfaces and temporary works.
Desirable
- Structural steel, roofing, cladding and glazing experience.
- Familiarity with Network Rail, TfL and utilities interfaces.
- Document control systems (BC, eB, CEMAR).
