Join the Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as an Electrical Supervisor for the Sellafield project and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of electrical systems in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices in daily electrical maintenance tasks.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Plan, execute, and oversee electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimise downtime.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and control panels.
- Ensure proper glanding, terminating, and wiring practices are followed.
- Conduct inspections and assessments of electrical installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Review and approve work completed by electricians, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes.
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety audits.
- Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and maintenance activities for management.
- Work closely with maintenance managers, engineers, and other supervisors to coordinate electrical maintenance activities.
- Participate in cross‐departmental meetings to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Relevant Electronic & Electrical Control Systems (ECS) Grade Card.
- Hold time layout served status with an official apprenticeship.
- Ability to obtain BPSS clearance.
- SMSTS / SSSTS certification.
- IOSH membership.
