Balfour Beatty is proud to be delivering the North Hykeham Relief Road project β a major highways infrastructure scheme, designed to improve connectivity, and reduce congestion in the Lincolnshire area. The project includes significant earthworks, drainage, structures, and highway construction, and offers a great opportunity to be part of a high profile civil engineering scheme.
We are looking for an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) to join the site team and take responsibility for the day to day delivery of a defined section of works. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and within budget.
Responsibilities- Acting as the appointed Temporary Works Co-ordinator in accordance with BS 5975
- Managing the temporary works register and ensuring all items follow the correct design and approval process
- Ensuring suitable design briefs are prepared for all temporary works
- Liaising with Temporary Works Designers and Checkers to ensure timely delivery of compliant designs
- Reviewing design drawings and method statements for buildability and compliance
- Ensuring permits to load / permits to strike are in place where required
- Carrying out site inspections to confirm temporary works are installed as per the approved design
- Supporting site management teams in understanding temporary works requirements
- Ensuring all temporary works are planned and executed in line with H&S and CDM requirements
- Leading temporary works coordination meetings
- A proven experience as a Temporary Works Co-ordinator on civil engineering or highways projects
- A strong working knowledge of BS 5975
- TWC certification (essential)
- Civil engineering background with good understanding of earthworks, formwork, falsework, excavations and traffic management
- Confidence reviewing technical drawings and design information
- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge when standards are not met
- CSCS card
- SMSTS or SSSTS
