About The Role
At Balvac, part of Balfour Beatty, we are specialists in structural repair, strengthening and refurbishment of critical infrastructure. We’re looking for a Senior Contracts Engineer to support the delivery of complex concrete and specialist repair schemes across the North West and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take ownership of projects, lead site teams, and play a key role in delivering safe, high‑quality outcomes for our clients.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing Balvac schemes of varying size and complexity from site through to completion
- Leading and coordinating site teams and specialist subcontractors
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with contract drawings, specifications and Project Management Plans
- Producing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments and construction documentation
- Managing dimensional control, setting‑out and technical delivery on site
- Developing and working to programmes, monitoring progress and productivity
- Driving high standards of Health, Safety & Environmental performance, including behavioural safety
- Managing construction records, as‑built drawings and O&M manuals
- Proactively identifying and resolving engineering and delivery challenges
- Supporting Balvac’s focus on Customer Excellence, Innovation and Quality Delivery
You’ll Ideally Have:
- A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience delivering structural or specialist concrete repair projects
- Experience working on infrastructure schemes involving concrete structures
- Strong technical knowledge of structural repairs and construction methodologies
- The ability to manage multiple teams and workstreams simultaneously
- Solid understanding of cost, programme and site performance management
- A proactive, confident leadership style with excellent communication skills
- A strong commitment to Zero Harm and high safety standards

Based from Warrington, with a mix of site and office working. Projects primarily across the North West, with some wider UK travel as required.
