About the Role
We’re hiring an Information Manager at Balfour Beatty! Join our Digital and Information Management team and play a key role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure.
As an Information Manager you’ll work on the UK’s most ambitious power transmission and distribution projects, driving innovation in BIM, ISO 19650 compliance, and digital delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project information through the Common Data Environment (CDE)
- Lead BIM processes and support collaborative working across design and construction teams
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards
- Develop and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Information Management Plans (IMP) and related documents such as MIDP and TIDP
- Facilitate information exchange, review and approve task‑team deliverables against brief and EIRs
- Liaise with project teams to capture specific standards, methods and procedures required by customers
- Provide coaching and assistance on the implementation of the chosen CDE
- Report progress of information development and exchange as defined in the IMP
Qualifications – Must Have
- BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND/HDC or equivalent experience with proven delivery of infrastructure or building projects
- NVQ Level 5 or 2–5 years of project/industry experience
- Understanding of ISO 19650 series and latest information management guidelines
- Strong communication skills (spoken & written) and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
- Technical proficiency with digital software applications, e.g., BIM suites, Excel, Power BI
- Experience training and mentoring others
- Analytical thinking, ability to work under tight deadlines and collaborate across supply chain
- Desire to learn, develop and support members of the digital team
Qualifications – Desirable
- Professional membership (e.g., RIBA, BSI)
- Experience with Autodesk and GIS applications
- Advanced Excel / Power BI capabilities
- Experience in power infrastructure projects
