Join our Rail Plant team as a Depot Asset & Inventory Administrator, where your role will support the smooth running of our operations and contribute directly to the reliability of the nation’s rail infrastructure. This is a great opportunity to develop your career while helping shape the performance of our Seasonal Treatment fleet. As a key member of the depot team, you will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing FAMS (Network Rail’s Fleet Asset Management System). Your work will keep our asset, maintenance, and inventory data accurate and up to date, supporting informed decision-making and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Fleet Systems: Oversee the FAMS system for the Seasonal Treatment MPV fleet.
- Maintain Precise Records: Accurately log, track, and report all maintenance, asset, and inventory activity.
- Support Maintenance Operations: Assist with planned maintenance tasks, work order tracking, and inventory control.
- Coordinate Procurement: Manage purchasing of parts, consumables, PPE, and depot supplies while keeping asset data current.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute to system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure Compliance: Meet all contractual requirements for data management, reporting, and audit standards.
- Promote Safety: Support adherence to Network Rail and HSE safety standards across depot operations.
Skills & Experience
- Strong IT capability, with experience in asset or maintenance systems (FAMS, Maximo, SAP, or similar).
- Background in inventory management.
- Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical maintenance documents.
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively with colleagues across the depot.
- Experience in maintenance, engineering, or asset management—preferably within rail or another regulated industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
