About The Role

Join our Balfour Beatty team as an Events Manager and shape something special. To lead the strategic planning, delivery, and evaluation of high-impact business events, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and reputational goals. The Events Manager is accountable for the end-to-end management of Group, UK and business events, providing leadership, direction, and oversight across all phases of event delivery. This is a Hybrid role.
What you'll be doing
- Provide senior level guidance and input into concept and agenda development.
- Project manage the delivery of Group / UK / Business events, including leadership conferences.
- Lead the development of event content and agenda, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and audience needs.
- Develop, own, and update comprehensive event project plans and timelines.
- Oversee logistics and delegate management, including invitations, registration systems, attendee communications, accommodation, and accessibility.
- Manage event collateral and branding, working with the Marketing Team and Creative leads to ensure consistency with corporate guidelines.
- Coordinate with business/function leads and nominated event leads to ensure events support key business objectives and thematic priorities.
- Lead on risk management and escalation, providing senior-level support and decision-making for significant changes.
- Ensure post-event evaluation, including feedback collection, insights reporting, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Attend events to oversee on-the-day delivery, troubleshooting, and team coordination.
- Manage and lead cross-functional event project teams, providing clear direction, motivation, and support to ensure successful event delivery.
Who we're looking for
Essential- Significant experience in planning and delivering complex live events at a managerial level.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication craft skills and technical knowledge.
- Experience with event management software and project management tools.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence at senior management and C‑suite level.
- Effective team leader, able to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
- Adaptable, resilient, and able to prioritise competing demands.
- Clean driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Experience of working on construction/civil engineering infrastructure projects.
