Join the Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as an Electrical Supervisor for the Sellafield project and play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of electrical systems in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices in daily electrical maintenance tasks.
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimise downtime.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and control panels.
  • Ensure proper glanding, terminating, and wiring practices are followed.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of electrical installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Review and approve work completed by electricians, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety audits.
  • Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and maintenance activities for management.
  • Work closely with maintenance managers, engineers, and other supervisors to coordinate electrical maintenance activities.
  • Participate in cross‑departmental meetings to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Electronic & Electrical Control Systems (ECS) Grade Card.
  • Hold time layout served status with an official apprenticeship.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS clearance.
  • SMSTS / SSSTS certification.
  • IOSH membership.
