Role Purpose
Electrical Design Engineer – Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick.
Accountable for designing low‑voltage electrical distribution systems and creating all necessary documentation across heavy industrial projects. The role supports projects across England and Scotland, with a focus on project cost effectiveness, safety, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Design LV electrical distribution systems.
- Create specifications, datasheets, cable calculations and schedules.
- Produce drawings in collaboration with the CAD team.
- Review manufacturer documentation for compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with technical consultants and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across design and project teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for all levels.
- Knowledge of relevant UK codes of practice and regulatory material.
- Experience in Petrochemical, Power Generation, Renewables or Nuclear environments.
- Holding full UK work rights and eligibility for SC level Security Clearance.
