Balfour Beatty is seeking a Site Engineer to join our team working on a major Overhead Lines (OHL) project in Bristol. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-profile power infrastructure scheme, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of works critical to the UK's energy network. You'll be working within a collaborative project team, contributing to quality, safety, and programme performance on site while developing your career with a leading infrastructure organisation.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting out and surveying works in line with project and OHL requirements
- Supporting the delivery of overhead line construction activities on site
- Ensuring works are carried out safely, to specification, and in accordance with programme
- Assisting with the coordination and supervision of subcontractors
- Carrying out quality checks, inspections, and technical compliance activities
- Maintaining accurate site records, reports, and as-built information
- Promoting best practice in health, safety, and environmental standards
What we're looking for:
- HNC / HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in a Site Engineer or Graduate Engineer role, ideally within power, utilities, or major infrastructure
- Understanding of overhead lines or transmission projects (desirable but not essential)
- Competence with setting out equipment such as GPS and total station
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, safety-first mindset
