Join our Regional Scotland team as a Maintenance Manager to build new futures.
What you'll be doing:
- Ensure the smooth and safe operation of all building services within the East Slope and West Slope student accommodation developments.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
- Lead on reactive maintenance, ensuring timely response to resident and facility requests.
- Schedule and manage routine inspections and compliance tasks (EICR, gas safety, fire alarms, lifts, etc.).
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, documentation, and statutory records.
- Act as the Authorised Person (low voltage, mechanical), Responsible Person (Water), and COSHH coordinator.
- Manage and mentor a technical team, supporting skill development and ensuring high standards of workmanship.
- Liaise with external contractors and stakeholders, managing contracts and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, prepare regular reports, and drive continuous improvement.
- Assist with building refurbishments, upgrades, and planned expansion projects.
- Maintain statutory compliance with health, safety, and building regulations, overseeing risk assessments and audits.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- IOSH or NEBOSH accreditation (desirable).
- Membership of a chartered body (desirable).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management.
- Proven track record in managing technical teams, PPM systems, and compliance.
- Experience managing external contractors effectively.
Skills & Competencies:
- Technical competence across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire systems.
- Strong leadership, people management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and budgeting capabilities.
- Proficient in building management and FM software systems.
