Balfour Beatty's Power Transmission & Distribution business is seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Substations) to lead and deliver construction activities at our Laleham Substation site. This is a key leadership role, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient delivery of all construction works while driving team performance and strong stakeholder relationships.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage Site Engineers / Project Engineers to ensure that all work undertaken satisfies all required safety and technical policies and procedures.
- Plan the work and oversee the requirements for necessary materials, plant and equipment.
- Oversee the requirements for resource and then manage staff for the project.
- Manage the construction site(s) on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labour force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control.
- Ensure that all work is carried out according to required standards and be responsible for effective liaison and collaboration with Highways Authorities, Local Authorities and other Utilities providers.
- Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress.
- Check design documents.
- Responsible for a working environment which ensures the achievement of all safety and environment legislation, engineering and customer standards.
