What you\’ll be doingRole Purpose

Undertake site engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting progress.

The project involves significant heavy civil engineering such as earthworks, drainage, and roads.

Health, Safety & Environmental

Produce Task Briefing Sheets

Contribute to production of Permit to Dig, including briefing to the workforce

Carry out briefings and toolbox talks

Conduct Safety Inspections

Identify hazards and contribute to developing Safe Systems of Work

Engineering Control

Set out from primary control provided by others

Provide sketches detailing the setting out information installed

Maintain survey equipment, including registers and testing regimes

Read and determine information from drawings, schedules and specifications

Quality

Produce as‐built drawings and records for every element of the works involved

Complete Quality Check Sheets and produce information for Handover Documentation in line with programme

Maintain accurate records – Daily Diary, photographs, records of site discussions

Productivity

Measure actual materials used and reconcile with theoretical measures, reporting and investigating reasons for differences

Work to Weekly Programme (drafted by others) and mark up progress achieved weekly

Contribute to collection of data for Key Performance Indicators, including reasons for difference

Commercial

Produce accurate daily diary of resources, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and outputs

Produce weekly measure, take‐offs and schedule materials accurately, producing clear requisitions and following through to delivery

Understand what is classified as additional work and how to record this

Be familiar with actual resourcing levels versus budget and report reasons for differences

Use setting out techniques and survey equipment

Report issues with control and information provided

Read and understand drawings and schedules

Understand Activity Control Plans and produce resultant information for handover file

Have a strong understanding of construction tolerances

Be aware of and use Specification and other Contract documents

Produce detailed documentation for handover of completed works

Take off and schedule material quantities accurately

Commercial

Have knowledge of specification and contract documents

Understand what constitutes additional works
