About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Co-ordinator to join our A57 Mottram project in Manchester. As a Regional Utilities Co-ordinator, you will be tasked with ensuring that the project is compliant with BB Internal Business management systems (BMS) for working near utilities. Providing site support producing and monitoring Utilities permits as well as interfacing with utility companies for utility diversions.
Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage, and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live, work and play.
What you'll be doing:
- Production, auditing, approving, and monitoring of Permits to Dig as per PAS128.
- Working with the construction team to ensure Permits are in place in advance of works and marked out clearly.
- Liaise with the Utility owners to ensure the correct permissions are in place.
- Assisting the Utilities Manager/Regional Utilities lead to ensure the project is compliant with internal Business management System relating to working near services and other client/industry requirements or best practice.
- Ensuring site awareness of Utilities policy and BMS requirements.
- Interfacing with audit function to support the Utilities Team with Management System audits.
- Have extensive experience in scanning and marking out services to assist the utilities Engineer when needed.
- Assistance with ensuring Utility diversions are completed on time and budget.
Who we're looking for:
- BSc in relevant field (preferable).
- Holds a valid CSCS Card.
- Extensive knowledge in scanning and marking out Utilities as per PAS128.
- Must be a strong team player, with developed communication skills.
- Proven previous experience in a similar Utilities role (preferable).
- Experience in highways and construction requirements.
- Good working knowledge of working around Utilities and Permit to dig Systems.
- Experience of supporting the site teams to achieve right first-time results.
