This is an exciting opportunity to join Balfour Beatty, as we have been selected as a construction partner for the Rolls-Royce Major Upgrade Programme in Derby. This much-needed and high-profile project is critical to supporting growth in demand from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the requirements of the AUKUS agreement. Over the next eight years, Balfour Beatty will deliver the programme in phases, including infrastructure enabling works and major redevelopment work. This is a unique opportunity for a proven Site Engineer to join the team.
What you’ll be doing
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities on site
- Ensure work is delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
- Set out, level, and survey the site using appropriate equipment
- Support with technical reporting, quality inspections, and compliance checks
- Collaborate with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet project milestones
- Promote and uphold the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
Who we’re looking for
- A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction or infrastructure sector
- Strong understanding of construction methods, health & safety, and technical standards
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using surveying equipment and relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, GPS systems)
- CSCS card (or equivalent), and SMSTS/SSSTS certification (desirable).
