About the role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Section Engineer to support the Design Engineering team in delivering projects related to our RIP M25 J10 A3 Wisley improvement scheme. Balfour Beatty Highways maintain, manage and operate major highway networks across the UK and support local authorities creating communities where people want to live, work and play. We provide high quality asset strategy, management and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers. We provide specialist, reliable, sustainable and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK. We put our customers first and prioritise completing schemes safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
What you'll be doing
- Carry out complex setting out
- Coaches subordinates in the use of setting out techniques
- Actively uses the Specification as a reference document
- Identifies, raises, and actions Non-Conformance Reports
- Identifies and raises Technical Queries with possible solutions
- Produces Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Produces a weekly programme and measures progress against KPI’s
Who we’re looking for
You will have the following:
- Understands and has experience of producing ACP
- Understanding of construction tolerances
- Awareness of Specification and other Contract documents
- Understands Permit System and actively raises permits to Work
- Good understanding of key contract documentation
