About the role
Own your career, and you can build something to be proud of at Balfour Beatty. By joining our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Lead Piping delivery manager on the Sizewell C Project. You’ll work with true experts who’ll share their knowledge and provide support, encouragement and invaluable feedback so you never stop learning. Sizewell C will create a 3.2 gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years. It will be built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has so far avoided more than 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions. Our proposal is to build a new nuclear power station on the East Suffolk coast which will supply 6 million homes with low-carbon electricity.
This role will be hybrid with a minimum of 1-2 days at the Aztec West offices in Bristol.
What you'll be doing
This role is critical in developing the overall strategy and plans for piping
delivery.
You will;
- Support the execution of the Bulk strategy within the matrix organisation
of the MEHA, and lead the delivery of piping spools supporting the SZC
overall programme. - Effectively lead a small but high-performing team with autonomy,
referencing back to senior leadership for guidance and support on critical
matters. - Ensure harmonized processes and IT tools across all fabrication assets and
integrate IP teams, with support of the Lead PM BNI, BOP and NSSS. - Operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation and in
multidisciplinary working groups. - Have adequate cross sector experience and communication skills to be
able to influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. - Be a contributor to the overall output and related strategies of the MEH
team. - These accountabilities are not an exhaustive list of the responsibilities and

Who we're looking for
- Educated to a degree level in Mechanical Engineering
- Project Management Experience
- Manufacturing management experience (Piping
fabrication a plus) - Proven leadership experience
- Experience of managing and co-ordination major EPC contractors,
interfacing with a suite of suppliers, disciplines, stakeholders and
integration of the same into the overall project program. - Able to obtain a security clearance
