About the role
Do you want to be at the forefront of one of the world’s most ambitious sustainability initiatives? Balfour Beatty have created iconic buildings and infrastructure all over the world over the past 115 years redefining excellence and setting the industry benchmark with every project. As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster. Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Engineering Surveyor to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you'll be doing
- Manage site records of all survey related tasks
- Manage and coordinate site team survey activities
- Manage inventory of survey equipment and ensure consumables are accurately maintained
- Delegate for survey manager when they are not present on site
- Attend design and construction engineering meetings and design review
- Accountable for survey team output and performance.
Who we're looking for
- Ability to work collaboratively with all teams
- An elevated level of understanding and experience in design, construction and surveying within a construction environment
- Proficient in the use of GPS and survey applications
- Experience in organising and managing site survey teams
- Knowledge of and checking design deliverables in various digital formats
- Experience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies
- Experience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirements
- Experience using latest survey equipment, software, and technologies
- Experience in establishing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) networks
