Key Responsibilities

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have additional needs.
  • Support emotional regulation and help build confidence and resilience.
  • Assist teachers by adapting lessons and learning materials.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and a calm classroom environment.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils as a trusted adult.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Support with personal care, where required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
  • Experience working in an SEN setting (essential).
  • Experience providing 1:1 support (preferred).
  • Personal care experience (essential).
  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to adapt to different school environments.
  • Good communication skills.

Safeguarding, Prevent, and FGM training can also be provided free of charge.
