Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who have additional needs.
- Support emotional regulation and help build confidence and resilience.
- Assist teachers by adapting lessons and learning materials.
- Encourage positive behaviour and a calm classroom environment.
- Build strong relationships with pupils as a trusted adult.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
- Support with personal care, where required.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).
- Experience working in an SEN setting (essential).
- Experience providing 1:1 support (preferred).
- Personal care experience (essential).
- A patient, caring, and flexible approach.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- The ability to adapt to different school environments.
- Good communication skills.
Safeguarding, Prevent, and FGM training can also be provided free of charge.
