SEN Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Sutton Coldfield
Duration: Full-Time, Ongoing
Salary: £95 – £105 per day
The School/Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing school community in Sutton Coldfield. This full-time role involves supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring they have access to a tailored and supportive learning environment.
Key Duties
- Individualised Support: Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, adapting learning materials to meet their needs.
- Behaviour Management: Assist in managing and supporting positive behaviour in line with school policies.
- Learning Environment: Create a safe and stimulating learning environment that promotes students’ academic and personal development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to implement and review individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and carers about student progress and needs.

Requirements
- Experience working with children with SEN
- Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
- Relevant qualifications in SEN support
- Experience with specific SEN programmes or tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school-based references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service or willingness to obtain a new enhanced DBS
