Pay Rate: £13.86 per hour

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Shifts: Day & Night Shifts (8am–8pm / 8pm–8am)

Balfor Health and Social Care is recruiting Mental Health Support Workers to work within female-only mental health services across the Birmingham and Redditch area. Due to the nature of the service and the personal care and support provided, this role is open to female applicants only, in line with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 – Genuine Occupational Requirement.

Role Overview

You will provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with complex needs, including mental health conditions, autism, ADHD, and behaviours that may challenge, within residential and supported living environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting adults with mental health needs and complex behaviours
  • Working within residential homes and supported living settings
  • Assisting with personal care, daily living activities, and medication
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
  • Managing challenging behaviour in line with individual care plans
  • Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience in Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, or Challenging Behaviour settings
  • Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours
  • Up-to-date training in MAPA, PMVA, MAYBO, or CPI
  • Medication trained
  • PBS trained
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends
  • Professional, reliable, and compassionate approach
