Key Responsibilities – Children’s Residential Support Worker

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker, your duties will include:

  • Providing high-quality, child-centred care in line with individual care plans
  • Acting as a Key Worker, attending reviews and contributing to care planning
  • Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour management, and daily routines
  • Promoting safeguarding, welfare, and positive outcomes always
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing residential environment
  • Completing accurate daily records, incident reports, and handovers

Essential Requirements to be a Children’s Residential Support Worker

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • At least 1 year’s experience working with children or young people
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting children with Autism, challenging behaviour, self-harm, or emotional distress
