About the School and Role
Balfor Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and collaborative primary school in Hall Green, Birmingham, that is looking to appoint a dedicated KS1 Primary Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated teacher to work in a supportive and well-organised school environment where staff work closely together to provide high-quality education for all pupils.
The successful KS1 Primary Teacher will work alongside an experienced Key Stage 1 Leader and a strong team of teaching staff and teaching assistants. The school is committed to creating a nurturing learning environment where pupils feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the KS1 National Curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies to support the diverse learning needs of pupils
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
- Liaise closely with teaching assistants to support classroom activities and pupil development
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback where necessary
- Maintain positive behaviour management and promote a respectful classroom environment
- Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities
Requirements
- PGCE, Masters, or BA Hons in Primary Education and/or Teaching
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recent experience teaching within a primary school
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Strong understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum
- Ability to effectively support and manage pupils, including those with mild SEN
- Experience or training in Systematic Synthetic Phonics (desirable)
