Balfor Education is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher for a secondary school in Alum Rock. This is a supply teaching role, available on both short-term and long-term placements, depending on school requirements. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons, support pupil progress, and maintain a positive and focused learning environment.
Please note: Only candidates with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who have completed their induction year will be considered. Applications from cover supervisors or those without QTS will not be accepted.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective and engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and behaviour management skills, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
- Assess, mark, and provide feedback to support pupil progress
- Contribute to departmental planning and collaborate with colleagues
- Ensure the safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion of all students
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and completion of the induction year
- Experience teaching Science confidently across KS3 and KS4
- Proven behaviour management skills to maintain discipline and engagement in challenging classroom environments
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work in supply teaching roles on short-term or longer-term placements
- Must either be registered on the DBS Update Service or willing to undergo a new enhanced DBS check
- This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check
- Two professional references covering a minimum of two years are required
- All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
