The School & Role: Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in SEN looking for your next exciting opportunity? We are currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to join a Primary and Secondary SEN school in Tamworth, starting ASAP. The schools are situated in and around Tamworth and offer a specialist teaching provision that will enable all pupils to lead fulfilling lives and be as independent as possible, through developing their strengths and working on creating a can-do attitude to life and learning. All pupils have wide-ranging abilities with some exhibiting learning difficulties and/or delay in their learning. A perfect environment for a SEN Teaching Assistant to thrive.
Responsibilities: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
- Work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils identified as having SEN needs.
- Support students in managing emotions, building resilience, and developing appropriate social skills.
- Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to suit individual pupils.
- Modify and adapt learning resources and materials to suit the pupils' ability level.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote a calm, supportive classroom environment.
- Act as a key adult for pupils, building trusting relationships and offering consistent emotional support.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and relevant professionals.
- Provide feedback to the teacher on pupil progress, engagement, and challenges.
Requirements:
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification Essential
- Experience in SEN settings Essential
- Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant and providing 1:1 support
