The Transportation Coordinator works under the direction of the Transportation Manager and contributes to the achievement of Baldor's mission, by monitoring, directing and supporting Baldor's Transportation team. This role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating transportation activities as well as handling any related issues. This role will work closely with various stakeholders such as drivers, carriers, routers and operations personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs driver check-ins, driver training, and on road training.
  • Assists Transportation Manager with overall day-to-day administration of transportation and delivery functions, which may include calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver hours and expense reports, identifying and resolving problems, and ensuring that drivers are compliant with DOT regulations.
  • Operates the computer keyboard to enter and access data in automated fleet management system.
  • Manage internal and external customer inquiries about delivery status.
  • Coordinate route assistance for underperforming routes.
  • Oversee the tracking and monitoring of temperature and excessive stop alerts.
  • Oversee audits of driver paperwork to ensure accuracy (PODs, Customer Signatures).
  • Oversee the research, tracking, and reporting of driver and route data via Transportation Power BI tools.
  • Coordinates tracking of all relevant information on drivers, such as license status, traffic tickets, accidents and other safety related data.
  • Ensures maintenance of all trucks through detailed review of post-trip inspections.
  • Works in conjunction with Transportation Manager to minimize operating expenses and to ensure all deliveries are efficiently delivered.
  • Dispatch for Saturday routes, daily updates & day end reports.
  • Create reports for driver performance in pertinent applications.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years in Transportation industry
  • Some experience or exposure to DOT and safety regulations

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
