Overview
Job Summary:
- Checking of goods inwards against purchasing information.
- Inspection, control, minor repair, & logging of equipment within the store.
- Preparing equipment for project sites in accordance with the project manager’s instructions & liaising with site engineers.
- Correct storage & handling of chemicals & other materials to prevent spills & unauthorised access.
- General control & maintenance of the store, ensuring it is in a safe & tidy condition.
- Driving duties as required into London & Home Counties primarily to deliver & collect equipment from sites.
- Compliance with company policies & processes/procedures in relation to Health, Safety, Environment & Quality as applicable to the role.
- Responsible for ensuring company vehicle is safe & meets all regulatory standards.
The Person:
- Warehouse experience as a store person - preferred but training can be provided.
- Positive, enthusiastic “can do” attitude.
- Physically fit - this role includes lifting & manual handling.
- Good time management & ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail & accuracy in handling goods & documentation.
- A great team player & good communicator.
Required:
- Good knowledge of the equipment & materials in use.
- Training in the inspection of equipment.
- Understanding/competence in basic plumbing/electrical, hand tools, metal works desirable.
- Full driving license.
- Ability to work under own initiative.
- Awareness of correct manual handling.
- Awareness of the requirements for storage & handling of hazardous materials.
