Participates in the implementation of the Production and mechanical maintenance strategy to ensure the reliability of the production sites within its scope.
- Supervises and performs Operation and mechanical maintenance operations in complete safety and with respect for the environment.
- Applies the "Maintain the production and distribution tool" process.
- Ensures that all activities on the site are carried out in a safe manner.
- Monitors and adjusts the operating parameters in order to maintain Facility Manager assigned production rates in the safest and most cost efficient manner.
- Responds expediently and efficiently to any plant upsets and alarms and brings any such upsets back into control in the minimum time practicable.
- Controls all contractors on site and issues work permits as required, giving induction training if needed.
- Carries out routine tasks and quality checks.
- Ensures maintenance activities are risk assessed and executed safely.
- Takes primary responsibility for the routine maintenance and repair of all the process equipment on site and provides oversight and support when contractors are employed on site.
Maintenance
- Contributes to the progress of mechanical operations in compliance with the budget and schedule in line with the purchasing process.
- Develops and monitors the mechanical maintenance program, including Pressure Equipment.
- Coordinates daily tasks for the mechanical department.
- Follows up on the technical services of the subcontractors.
- Participates in the management of the spare parts of his department.
- Detects and informs about technical anomalies (proposals for preventive actions to improve the quality of the product and the reliability of the installation).
- Participates in the role of mechanical guard QHSE System.
- Monitors the provisions of Safety Environment and Risk Management in accordance with legal provisions.
- Participates in site SQE/MR meetings depending on availability.
- Drafts procedures or operating methods specific to the mechanical department.
- Is responsible for the local environmental related aspects and other requirements of the certified ISO standards at the site, as part of the normal daily operations.
Training course following authorization
- Knowledge of AL techniques.
- Is trained in the GMPs that concern Food Safety Training including HACCP appreciation.
