Bakers Dolphin has had great success over the years training its own drivers. Many drivers have come to us with a standard car licence and found themselves driving a full coach on the continent 12 months later! A short interview should be sufficient to see if you have the necessary skills to become a trainee driver.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • You must hold a full EU driving licence and be aged at least 21 (or 18 to drive minibuses).
  • If you have a full EU driving licence, we may take you on and train you to gain your PCV licence.
  • You could also train independently to get a PCV licence by taking private lessons through a local training company.
  • You need to be examined by a doctor who will complete a form to say that you are medically fit for the road.
  • Upon successful completion of your medical check, you can apply for your provisional driving licence.
  • Once you have received your provisional licence, you are ready to move onto the next stage; The PCV test.

PCV Test Modules:

  • DSA PCV theory and hazard perception test
  • PCV case study theory exam
  • Practical driving test
  • Associated knowledge practical exam

PCV driver training normally lasts between one and six weeks.
