The role
This is a varied and relationship-led internal sales role focused on nurturing existing customer accounts while proactively generating new business opportunities. You'll work closely with the UK & Ireland Sales Manager, Internal Sales Admin and the Marketing Executive to maximise sales productivity by supporting, retaining and growing customer accounts, planning diaries, managing CRM activity, and helping drive new business growth. The role would suit someone who enjoys balancing customer service, account management, telesales, business development, and commercial coordination in a highly organised way.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and develop existing customer & key accounts, ensuring excellent service and relationship management.
- Conduct regular Teams meetings with buyers and technical/NPD contacts.
- Support NPD-led growth opportunities.
- Build strong relationships across procurement and product development teams.
- Drive outbound business development through calls, LinkedIn, email outreach, and prospecting activity.
- Qualify opportunities and book appointments for the UK & Ireland Sales Manager.
- Coordinate samples, quotations, customer actions, and CRM updates.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and account reporting.
- Support blend conversion and NPD-led growth opportunities.
- Help maximise field sales productivity through intelligent diary planning and customer coordination.
- Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, technical, and customer support teams.
Skills and experience
- Previous experience in internal sales, account management, telesales, customer success, or business development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness with a proactive and target-driven mindset.
- Highly organised with strong follow-up and administrative skills.
- Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft 365.
- Comfortable speaking with both commercial and technical stakeholders.
- Professional, positive, and customer-focused approach.
- Experience within food manufacturing, ingredients, bakery, FMCG, or B2B sales would be advantageous but is not essential.
