Shape the future of critical infrastructure with BakerHicks. We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our expanding team, delivering innovative solutions across a wide range of sectors. You’ll play a key role on power and energy projects, including substations, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy facilities – as well as exciting projects in other industries such as industrial, defence, and transportation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and specifying structural elements for diverse projects, with a strong focus on power and energy infrastructure.
  • Producing deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to provide safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
  • Reviewing calculations, technical drawings, and supplier submissions to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Supporting the development of early-career engineers and contributing to technical excellence.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable structural engineering and design experience delivering projects in at least one sector BakerHicks operates in – power sector experience desirable.
  • Progressing towards Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IStructE.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., MasterSeries, STAAD, Tedds).
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and CDM regulations.
  • Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).
  • UK-based project experience in structural engineering either through employment, internship, or graduate placement.
