We’re looking for a Structural Engineer who’s detail-driven, technically sharp, and ready to make an impact across a diverse project portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who is 1–2 years away from achieving chartership and looking to join a company that offers the support, exposure, and project experience needed to get them over the line and progress into a Senior-level position.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality structural engineering designs as part of an integrated project team.
  • Producing detailed structural calculations and analysis to current British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Developing designs for a wide range of buildings and structural elements.
  • Creating and checking sketches, drawings and technical deliverables to company and client quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with architects, engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines.
  • Supporting and mentoring CAD technicians, trainees and graduates.
  • Managing and contributing to packages of work, with increasing responsibility as experience grows.
  • Participating in technical meetings and representing BakerHicks when required.
  • Promoting quality, accuracy and Perfect Delivery across every project.

What You Bring

  • A Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or a Bachelor’s with willingness to complete further learning).
  • A strong understanding of Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM and UK technical standards.
  • Experience designing with steel, concrete, timber and/or masonry.
  • AutoCAD proficiency (2D/3D); Revit experience is a bonus.
  • Solid understanding of structural design principles and site-wide considerations such as earthworks.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to collaborate, influence and negotiate across disciplines.
  • Strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure.
  • A full UK driving licence and eligibility for security/airside clearance.
  • Sector experience in Aviation, Defence, Custodial or Power is a plus!
