With our team expanding, we’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineer to take the lead on diverse, multidisciplinary projects across sectors including Aviation, Life Sciences, Defence, Industrial, Power, Transportation, and the Public Sector.
As part of a dynamic and committed team of engineers and technicians, you’ll play a central role in delivering civil designs, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to the continued growth and capability of our Civil & Structural department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil design delivery across multiple projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and quality targets are met
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians in technical design and BIM software integration
- Undertake infrastructure design including earthworks, drainage, pavement design, and 3D underground service coordination
- Review subcontractor and supplier drawings for compliance with design intent
- Promote innovation and sustainability in civil engineering solutions
- Represent BakerHicks in client meetings and site visits as required
- Support the implementation of best practices in design and project delivery
- Contribute to the wider development of the Civil & Structural department
Requirements
- HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering
- Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE
- Experience in infrastructure design and coordination
- Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D
- Proficient in MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage a must
- Strong understanding of drainage network design, flood risk assessment, and SuDS
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
- Comfortable reviewing subcontractor and supplier drawings
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to represent the company in client meetings and site visits
- Commitment to sustainable and innovative design practices
