As an Architectural Assistant in our Architecture team, you will be responsible for the quality generation and delivery of design documents and drawings to support the architectural team. Our architects specialise in highly regulated and complex project delivery. We’ve developed a reputation for leading the process, and a track record in delivering some of the most challenging construction projects across the country. From inception to completion, we collaborate with other disciplines, delivering flexible buildings that work best for clients and the communities they serve. You will continue your journey to becoming a qualified Architect, gaining the skills that you need to begin a successful career in design and engineering, whilst working alongside industry-leading teams. You’ll be part of the team and get involved in a wide variety of projects to develop your experience from the very first day.

Key Purpose

As an Architectural Assistant in our Architecture team, you will be responsible for creating designs and highly detailed drawings and design solutions using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) applications. You’ll work closely with other members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient and buildable solutions, in a multi-disciplinary design environment.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

We’re looking for individuals with a passion for Architecture and have or are set to achieve at least a 2:1 in a relevant degree, such as Architecture that provides you with either a recognised RIBA Part I or Part II qualification. You’ll also need to feel confident to challenge the status quo, strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself and put our customers first.

Working closely with other members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions you will have the following knowledge and experience:

  • Understand the latest industry standard software and information management techniques and be able to use Autodesk Revit.
  • Understanding of the latest Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Technical knowledge of building components.
  • Be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with the architectural team, other disciplines, and other consultants.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Working use of Autodesk Revit 3D software.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a Senior architectural team member to produce 2D & 3D deliverables from concept through to fully co-ordinated detailed design.
  • Knowledge of current UK technical standards/publications and legislation requirements.
  • Effectively manage own time across multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication style and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following software: Lumion, COBie, NBS Chorus, Sketch-up.
  • Some experience of detailed design RIBA 4 delivery.

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements. In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.
