Deliver technically complex civil engineering designs across multiple sectors. At BakerHicks, we specialise in delivering high‑quality civil engineering design for complex and critical infrastructure projects. We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to technically challenging work across a range of regulated sectors.
You will be involved in the design of power and energy infrastructure, including substations, grid connections, and renewable energy facilities, alongside projects within industrial, defence, and public sector environments. The role offers strong technical depth, exposure to varied projects, and long‑term career development.
- Designing and specifying civil engineering works for large‑scale infrastructure projects, including earthworks, drainage, utilities, and external works.
- Working closely with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable design solutions.
- Reviewing calculations and subcontractor designs to ensure compliance, quality, and best practice.
A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required. Experience delivering civil engineering design on infrastructure projects, with hands‑on involvement in earthworks, drainage systems, external works, utilities coordination, and site‑wide infrastructure design is essential. Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar design and draughting software is necessary, along with a good working knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM regulations, and BIM processes. Eligibility for security clearance, which is essential for certain projects, is also required.
