Our multi-disciplinary REVIT team continues to grow, and we are now looking to appoint a Revit Technician – Building Services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Building Services engineering knowledge and BIM experience, who can generate high quality, accurate and fully co-ordinated design deliverables within a collaborative design environment. Within this role, you will be working closely within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver efficient and buildable solutions across a variety of sectors.

As a Revit Technician, you are expected to have a strong track record in one or, preferably, multiple sectors that BakerHicks operates in. You will have experience in generating high quality, accurate and detailed design packages. You’ll understand the latest industry standard software and information management techniques to work as part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians, delivering high quality output on projects.

Key Purpose

To be responsible for discrete packages of work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer or Senior Technician. To provide appropriate levels of Building Services design coordination, drawing and modelling to a range of different projects.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Be responsible for the production of fully co-ordinated discipline specific 3D models, schematic, general arrangement and detailed drawings in accordance with the relevant standards and procedures.
  • Ensure quality of delivery when producing or updating CAD drawings to internal and/or customer standards.
  • Work closely with other members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient and buildable solutions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Technicians from other disciplines, other consultants, etc.
  • Ensure thorough checking and accuracy of their own work and the work of developing members of the team under their supervision, in line with company QA procedures.
  • Production of model outputs, such as schedules, room data sheets etc.
  • Preparation of COBie and asset information.
Knowledge, Experience and QualificationsEssential
  • Understanding of the principals of building services engineering systems and components including coordination and spatial requirements.
  • High level of proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D software including AutoCAD and REVIT as a minimum.
  • Ability to work under the supervision of Senior Technician to produce 2D and 3D deliverables from concept through to full co-ordinated detailed design.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of the construction process and co-ordination experience.
  • Effectively manage own time across multiple tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication style and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to negotiate both internally and externally to the team.
  • Essential technical experience: Understanding coordination and installation of Mechanical Building Services systems including HVAC and public health and their interfaces with other building disciplines.
Desirable
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following software: MagiCAD, Navisworks.

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance or assurance level for this role, in line with client and sector requirements. In some cases, additional nationality or residency criteria may also apply due to specific client or national security obligations.
