Lead the successful delivery of complex highways projects that shape the future of transport infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in highways design and proven project management capability to lead projects from award through to completion. This role requires the ability to manage project scope, programme, cost, risk, resources, and stakeholder expectations while applying sound technical knowledge to support high-quality project delivery. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards.
What you’ll do
- Lead highways projects through the full project lifecycle, from planning to delivery and close-out
- Manage project scope, programme, budgets, risks, and resource planning
- Provide informed oversight of highways design to ensure technical quality and buildability
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
- Monitor commercial performance, change control, and contractual obligations
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations
- Build strong client relationships and provide clear reporting and governance
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), APM, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent desirable
- Strong project management experience is essential
- A proven background in highways design is essential
- Strong understanding of highways standards including DMRB, MCHW, and CDM Regulations
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management capability
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
