BakerHicks have grown rapidly in the Transmission & Distribution sector over the last ten years and have been successful in winning a number of major projects within the UK. As the demand to deliver exceptional engineering design from our clients continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a Principal Primary Engineer – HV Substations. This role will be reporting to the Substations Engineering - HV and will be responsible for leading a small team of Substation Primary Engineers and CAD Technicians, ensuring the quality and consistency of the teams output in the production and control of drawings and technical documents. You will be expected to take the CDAE role for HV Plant for National Grid projects. You will also work with the Power Sector Director to assist during the bid process in order to secure further work.
About You
- You have significant experience in the production of all designs, calculations, reports & drawings associated with new or modification of HV substation projects up to 400kV, covering primary design and engineering elements.
- Previous experience as HV Plant CDAE accreditation by National Grid, highly desirable.
- You will have National Grid or Scottish Power experience.
- You will have prior experience in production of single line diagrams, primary layouts, technical specifications and other design deliverables.
