BakerHicks is looking for a Highway Engineer with experience delivering highways and civil engineering projects. You’ll work on small to medium projects and defined packages on larger schemes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, compliant designs. This role is ideal if you’re progressing toward Chartered or Incorporated status.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver highways and civil engineering works in line with current standards and regulations
- Manage design packages, meeting time, cost, and quality objectives
- Produce drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions
- Support and mentor early-career engineers
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Near-Chartered / Incorporated (ICE or equivalent)
- Experience in highways and civil engineering design packages
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Drainage & SuDS experience (InfoWorks / MicroDrainage)
- Knowledge of UK highways standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, TSRGD, etc.)
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Eligible for UK security clearance and full UK driving licence
