We’re on the lookout for a forward-thinking Civil Engineer to join our talented team in Motherwell, working on critical power and energy projects, including substations, grid connections, and renewables – as well as diverse, multi-sector schemes across defence, transport, and industry.

πŸ” What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and specifying civil engineering solutions for large-scale infrastructure projects – from drainage and utilities to external works and earthworks.
  • Producing accurate and detailed designs, drawings, and reports in line with project and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams to deliver fully integrated, buildable designs.
  • Reviewing calculations and third-party designs to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence.

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience in one or more sectors – power project exposure is a strong plus.
  • Progressing toward Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IStructE.
  • Solid knowledge of drainage, earthworks, and external works design.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD (or similar) – especially for draughting and layout design.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM regulations, and BIM workflows.
  • Confident communicator and collaborative team player.
  • Must meet eligibility criteria for security clearance.
