At BakerHicks, we deliver complex engineering and project solutions across a diverse range of sectors. As our business continues to grow, so does the importance of data in helping us measure performance, inform decision-making, and plan effectively for the future. We are on an exciting journey to transform the way we use data, moving from fragmented and manual reporting processes to a more integrated, scalable, and insight-driven Business Intelligence capability. As part of this transformation, we are seeking a BI Integration & Innovation Lead to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping how data is utilised across the business.

Working closely with stakeholders from multiple functions, you will help develop meaningful reporting, improve data quality, and create actionable insights that support strategic and operational objectives. You will contribute to the design and delivery of modern BI solutions, helping BakerHicks build a data-driven culture and unlock greater value from its information assets.

The Opportunity

This is a newly shaped role focused on integrating Business Intelligence into the core of how the business operates. Today, reporting is delivered through a combination of tools and processes - including detailed spreadsheet packs. While valuable, this approach is time-intensive and limits how effectively data can be used. We are looking for someone to lead the next phase of our BI evolution - bringing structure, clarity and innovation to how we capture, shape and deliver data across the organisation.

This role will:

  • Move us from manual, static reporting to dynamic, scalable BI solutions
  • Define what “good” reporting looks like across sectors and disciplines
  • Integrate BI into day-to-day business decision-making
  • Introduce standards, governance and consistency in how data is used

About You

We are looking for someone who combines technical BI expertise with the ability to drive change, structure and innovation within a business.

Experience

  • Strong experience in Business Intelligence, data reporting or analytics roles
  • Experience implementing or improving BI/reporting frameworks within an organisation
  • Proven track record of transforming reporting from manual or fragmented processes
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders to shape data and reporting solutions

Technical Capability

  • Strong experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools)
  • Experience with data modelling, reporting structures and dashboard design
  • Ability to work with raw data and multiple data sources (SQL, etc.)
  • Understanding of data governance, quality and reporting best practice

Mindset & Approach

  • Able to think beyond tools and focus on how BI supports the business
  • Strong problem-solver with the ability to bring structure to complexity
  • Comfortable challenging existing ways of working and introducing new approaches
  • Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

While Power BI will be a core tool, this role is broader than any single platform. It is about how BI is embedded into the business, not just how reports are built.

Why Join Us

  • Opportunity to shape how Business Intelligence is embedded across the organisation
  • Play a key role in a high-impact transformation programme
  • Influence how the business uses data to make decisions
  • Work in a collaborative environment with strong stakeholder exposure
