The Opportunity
We're seeking a dual-qualified US-UK tax professional at Assistant Manager level to join this growing private client tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax advisor looking to work with sophisticated international HNW clients in a firm that offers clear progression. This is NOT a remote role. The position is based in Central London with a hybrid working model that is predominantly office-based, reflecting the collaborative nature of the work and client interaction required.
What You'll Do
- Manage personal tax compliance for high-net-worth UK and US clients
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for UK and US HNW individuals
- Provide technical tax advice on estate planning, inheritance tax, wealth structuring, and domicile matters
- Review specialist computations (e.g., tax pool computations for offshore trusts)
- Review tax returns prepared by consultants and provide technical input
- Support on advisory projects and client queries
- Liaise with HMRC and IRS on client matters
- Build strong client relationships and provide responsive service
Requirements
What You'll Need
Essential:
- Dual-qualified: UK AND US tax qualifications and experience (e.g., CTA/ACA + US CPA, or equivalent UK Chartered status with substantive US tax credentials)
- This is critical: We cannot consider US CPAs without UK tax qualifications and UK practice experience, nor UK-only qualified candidates
- CTA qualified (or equivalent UK qualification) with strong technical skills
- Experience working with UK and US HNW clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge across UK and US personal tax
- Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent IT skills and adaptability to technology
- Proven ability to deliver accurate information on a timely basis
Desirable:
- Big 4 or top-tier firm experience
- UK and US tax advisory experience
- Experience with trust and estate structures
- Exposure to wealth structuring and domicile planning
