We are partnering with a highly regarded, award-winning tax, accountancy and business advisory firm in Central London to recruit an ambitious Audit Assistant Manager for their Corporate Audit team. This is a classic UK practice audit role offering a clear pathway to Manager and beyond. The Opportunity
As Audit Assistant Manager, you will manage a varied portfolio of corporate audit clients, taking responsibility for:
- Leading audits from planning through to completion under UK GAAP
- Managing on-site teams and reviewing the work of more junior staff
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies
- Overseeing basic corporation tax computations/returns as part of year-end work
- Providing practical guidance on regulatory matters (including tax, VAT, UK company law and principles of good governance)
- Acting as a key point of contact for your clients, ensuring excellent service and timely delivery
- Supporting local partners with ad hoc projects and advisory work as required
This role will suit someone already operating at Assistant Manager level, or a strong Senior / Supervisor who is ready to step up and take on more managerial responsibility.
What We're Looking For
From an agency perspective, our ideal candidate will bring:
- Background: Strong, recent experience in UK practice (mid-tier, large independent or Big 4/Top 10) within audit and assurance; Solid exposure to owner-managed businesses, SMEs or mid-market corporates
- Technical & Professional: Fully qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) essential; Confident in delivering audits under UK GAAP; Comfortable preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and basic corporation tax computations
- Leadership & Client Skills: Proven experience supervising juniors on-site and coaching/developing team members; A client-focused mindset with strong communication and relationship-building skills; Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines, maintaining high quality of work
- Personal Attributes: Collaborative, approachable and professional; Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions-oriented outlook; Ambitious and keen to progress towards Manager level in the near term
